Normal gestation for a female dog is 63 days and it takes 7-8 weeks for the puppies to be ready to leave their mother and go to a new home. Please keep this in mind as you plan for your new puppy. This gives you plenty of time to research how is the best way to care for your puppy as it grows, to prepare your home for your puppy, and to prepare your family for the new addition.
Taking a puppy into your home is serious business. It's like bringing home a new baby from the hospital: there is a lot of responsibility involved. There will be messes to clean, potty training to do, teething to deal with, and manners to learn. A puppy is cute and fun, but it takes dedication and patience from the human(s) to help the puppy grow into a good dog. If you would like more information on caring for your puppy or puppy adoption, please see our LINKS page.
General Health : All buyers have 72 hours to take their puppy to a veterinarian of their choice to have the puppy examined. Physical defects preventing the puppy from being a pet must be documented by the veterinarian at that time and a letter reporting the found defect returned with the puppy and all AKC paperwork to me for a refund. Any health problems found after the 72
hour time frame unless specifically mentioned are not implied or given by any warranty. Fleas, ticks, or any other external parasite easily
picked up during transport are not included. Kennel cough a self limiting condition that can be caught from boarding, visiting homes with dogs that have it etc, is not included. I vaccinate against kennel cough but it is up to the owner to keep that vaccination up to date. Injury due to negligence of buyer is not included.
If buyer finds they cannot keep their golden and cannot place it in another home, then I will accept the Golden back and re-home
it for the buyer. The buyer assumes all costs of returning the dog to me. I will NOT pay for the dog, but rather accept the dog back to insure my breeding does not add to the problem of overcrowded shelters. The dog will be returned with its AKC papers signed back to me and I will make every attempt to re-home the dog.
